TV Programming

I don't think there's any scope for debate here whatsoever... TV shows that I remember from the 80s and 90s were so FAR superior to modern-day "equivalents". Game shows, for instance... The Chase is quite good, but that's about it! Without resorting to Japan and their strokes of genius (Takeshi's Castle, Ninja Warrior, Unbeatable Banzuke, for example) you have to look back to wonderful quizzes like 15 To 1, Catchword, Fun House, and of course, Knightmare. But it's not just game shows, look at Kids' TV, too. These days you've got non-sensical utterances such as "Makka-pakka" and "Tombliboos", instead of Bungle, Zippy and George, Fimbles instead of Wombles, and Spongebob Squarepants instead of Sharkey & George.

Furthermore, look at Comedy... where's the genius of Russ Abbott? Apart from in Last of The Summer Wine, obviously.

One modern thing I am glad of, though... YouTube. Invaluable for finding clips of almost anything you want.
