The Big 8 Wizard Chaos Battle Royale

Attempt One

I tried to keep the Wizard names logically obvious, but failed. Basically, I'll refer to each wizard by their player number. Unfortunately I didn't keep the names to the same protocol. Duh. So here's a list of the players and their names:

1 - Fishsta
2 - SpecOne
3 - SpecTwo
4 - SpecFour (See what I did there?)
5 - SpecFive
6 - SpecSix
7 - SpecSeven
8 - SpecEight

Simples. Here's my opening list of spells:

Turn 1 - I try a Magic Wood, which fails, numerous Magic Castles and Dark Citadels fail, 7 & 8 cast Red Dragons, 7 is successful (bet it's an illusion). A few tentative moves, 7 moves straight in on 6 with the Red Dragon, but survives a fire breath.

Turn 2 - I take out Player 4 with a Lightning, 2 & 3 cast a shield and an Orc respectively, 5 gets a Goblin, 6 disblieve's 7's Red Dragon (Knew it was an illusion), 7 drops a gooey blob into the proceedings (Thankfully well away from me), 8 tries to sneakily Subvert 5's Goblin, but fails. Getting a nice gap around me now, could just do with some successful creature spells to protect me. 5's Goblin attacks 8, but to no avail, 8 chooses to retreat rather than retaliate.

Turn 3 - I make a Faun, 2 makes a Vampire (eek), 3 cheekily Magic Bolt's 5, who survives and tries a Vampire of their own (it fails). 6 tries a Vampie too (Fails), 7 makes a Giant Rat (Wow) and 8 flukes the Gooey Blob of Luck, dropping it right next to him, and it moves away from him, consuming the Goblin in the process. I choose to try and stay as mid-left as possible and let the battle develop on the right before I start sending any more attacks out, 2's Vampire kills 3's Orc, and the rest just move around a bit. 7's Giant Rat heads towards 6, but I don't think 6 is too worried.

Turn 4 - The universe is starting to turn Chaotic, so I cast a now 100% chance Goblin just to keep nudging things that way. I really need my Manticore. 2 & 6 cast Ghosts, 3 casts a Shadow Wood, 7 casts a bear, and 5, who tried a cheeky lightning bolt to 8 but failed to kill him, dies under 8's now VERY lucky gooey blob. 2 down, 5 to go. 2 has definitely seen me as a threat as his troops move towards me and away from 3.

Turn 5 - I make a Skeleton to try and fend off 2's attacks, he drops a Gooey Blob near me. 3 drops a Gooey Blob near 2's Vampire. 6 sends a Gooey Blob next to 7's bear. 7 uses a Lightning on the Gooey Blob (How did he know???) and 8 makes a bear. My Goblin handles the Gooey Blob while my Skeleton successfully defeats 2's Ghost. Lucky! No doubt the Vampire will come for me now, so I need to move on 2 and get him killed ASAP. Sure enough his Vampire takes out my Skeleton. The rest of the board make a few tentative moves.

Turn 6 - I decide to try my luck with a Disbelieve on the Vampire... Amazingly, it works! A couple of Fauns and Goblins get cast, and onto the movement phase. 2 looks to be avoiding me now (Thank God), 3 is just hiding in his Shadow Wood. 6 attacks 7's creatures with his Ghost, 7 retaliates, while 8's Bear kills 7 from behind. 3 down.

Turn 7 - With 4 Chaotic stars, the Universe dictates that my Manticore now has 80% chance of being cast. However, since I have 100% Bat and Harpy spells, I figure the Universe could make it 90 or 100 next round, so I'll get a Harpy on the board. A bit of an undead round of spells as 2 and 6 cast Zombies and 3 a Vampire. I'm looking to get a quick Harpy strike in on 2 here... but he refuses to die.

Turn 8 - I make a Bat, 2 & 6 make Wraiths (they keep copying each other...) 3 ignites a Magic Fire, which promptly burns itself out (D'oh). 2 & 3 are battling as are 6 & 8. Happy to let them weaken each other, watching for my chance to pick one off from behind.

Turn 9 - My Manticore is now 100%. The rest of my spells are Law... so will have to keep an eye on the Universe's alignment. 2 & 6 both successfully cast Red Dragons. Getting suspicious of their spell activity here, that's the last 6 turns they've cast the same spells, and probably on turn 1 too. I know the Red Dragon is a Chaos Dragon, so these might actually be real. 3 kills 2's Red Dragon with the Vampire (no body, so was an illusion). 6's decides to come straight for me. Dang, I thought he and 8 were only interested in each other. His attack kills my Manticore, ends up right next to my Wizard, and no chance I can survive the fire breath. Game Over. 4th one down.

Turn 10 - 2 & 6 both try Red Dragons. AGAIN the same. 2's fails, 6 is successful. My money's on 6 if either of those Dragons are REAL.

Turn 11 - You wouldn't believe this. 2 decides to Raise Dead on my Harpy... 6... also uses Raise Dead on a Faun. Both are successful. VERY suspicious now. 8 casts a Golden Dragon. Given the state of the Universe (heavily Chaos), a Law Golden Dragon would have a 10% chance of success. I doubt that it's real at all. 6 loses a Red Dragon under the Gooey Blobs. Everyone's heading for 8's Corner now. Funny, that.

Turn 12 - No-one tries to disbelieve the Golden Dragon. Duh! 2 & 6 both cast Goblins. Seriously, this is just wrong now. Let's see where the attacks go... All over the place. CPU is confused with the additional Undead creatures on the board and insists on attacking them anyway.

Turn 13 - 2 & 6 both cast Gooey Blobs. This must be a record. Attacks everywhere, board looking very busy now.

Turn 14 - The streak continues, 2 Harpies. Attacks everywhere, looks like 8's number is up, but he calls back his Golden Dragon and Vampire to save the day.

Turn 15 - 2 & 6 both cast Magic Wood. I hope we don't see a Turmoil here, the board would never survive it.

Turn 16 - 2 & 6 both cast Disbelieve, 2 on 6's Red Dragon (Real, as it turns out) and 6 on 8's Golden Dragon (surprise surprise... it's an illusion).

Turn 17 - FINALLY! 2 casts a Gooey Blob, 6 a Disbelieve! Now, will something happen this turn... No.

Several turns later... 2 finally snuffs it under a Gooey Blob. Well, Cripes, someone was going to.

As the board becomes impossible to negotiate, there's nothing to do but watch the board grind to a halt and it's all over.
